How to write a services page that turns readers into enquiries

A useful services page helps a reader decide whether your offer fits their situation. Start with the customer’s questions, then organise the page so the answers and next step are easy to find.

Explain the service in ordinary language

Name the work clearly. A heading such as “Boiler repair and servicing” tells a reader more than “Complete comfort solutions”. Explain who the service is for, the problems it addresses and any important limits.

Avoid claiming outcomes you cannot support. A consultant can explain their method and experience without promising a particular financial result; a web studio can describe its delivery process without guaranteeing search rankings.

Use a structure that supports a decision

  1. Service and audience: What do you provide, and for whom?
  2. Scope: What is included and what needs separate discussion?
  3. Process: What happens after an enquiry and during the work?
  4. Evidence: Relevant examples, qualifications or genuine reviews.
  5. Price or quotation: A meaningful starting point and the factors that change it.
  6. Next step: A clear message, quote or booking route.

Our website design and redesign services use the agreed business requirements to plan this structure rather than relying on a list of promotional claims.

Make pricing understandable

A starting price is useful only when the scope is visible. For example, our Starter Website currently starts at £790 excluding VAT for one page; a multi-page package has a different starting price. Refer to the current pricing page and confirm the actual project scope in writing.

If your work cannot be priced before assessment, explain how the quote is prepared and what information you need. Do not create a misleading low starting price just to attract a message.

Keep the contact path simple

Choose a clear main action and use wording that describes what will happen. On a phone, check that the action remains easy to reach and that the form asks only for information needed at that stage. Confirm the actual delivery of a test enquiry rather than assuming a visible success message proves receipt.

Make the page useful to search readers too

Clear headings and relevant internal links help people navigate the information. Use accurate descriptions and any appropriate structured data consistently with the visible page. Neither frequent edits nor adding the words “AI-ready” guarantees discovery or enquiries.

Review the content when services or terms change. Website Care can cover agreed minor updates, while Growth Care is a separate service for planned improvements.

If your current page is unclear, start with the Free Growth Check. For a deeper paid assessment, use the Website Growth Audit.
